Momentum Media launches new awards program for defence industry

B2B publisher Momentum Media has launched a new awards program, complementing its Defence Connect integrated brand.

To be held in September at the National Museum of Australia, Canberra, Momentum said that the Australian Defence Industry Awards will showcase the depth of talent in Australia’s defence industry while affirming its essential role in supporting national security and driving innovation, economic growth and workforce development.

Momentum Director Phillip Tarrant said the program has been created to reflect the comprehensive role of defence industry as a fundamental input to capability.

“Defence businesses and professionals play a critical role in equipping Australia’s ADF with the platforms, capabilities and services required to ensure battlefield superiority and underpin Australia’s sovereignty,” Tarrant said.

“The awards program will highlight the businesses and individuals who lead their fields. Our objective in creating the awards is to back defence industry and the great work it’s doing to deepen the capabilities of the ADF and better equip our service men and women – now and in the future.”

The awards will cover 30+ categories focusing on all facets of the defence industry, including primes, SMEs, academic institutions and associations, in addition to high-performing individuals such as defence executives, Indigenous and female leaders, students, scientists, technicians and academics.

The awards are open to all businesses operating in Australia supporting the defence supply chain irrespective of location, alliances, ownership or association membership. Partnership and sponsorship opportunities are available, leveraging the ability to connect face-to-face with the industry’s most elite members. 

Momentum produces a range of awards programs that provide additional revenue streams for its print and digital brands produced for Australia’s financial and professional services. According to the company’s website, it aims to play “an integral role delivering insightful market intelligence via multiple platforms, including digital, events, social, print, broadcast and research”.
