PCM acquires PPO premium subscription service and Gas Today publication from Great Southern Press

Prime Creative Media has increased its investment in the resources industry, with the acquisition of Pipeline, Plant & Offshore (PPO) premium subscription news service and online project database, and the Gas Today publication, website, and e-newsletter from Great Southern Press.

Prime Creative Media is now publishing PPO under the leadership of COO Zelda Tupicoff and Managing Editor Ben Creagh, who bring their wealth of experience in the oil and gas and resources sector to the service.

“With Australia’s oil and gas industry currently operating billions of dollars worth of projects, up-to-date information on the latest products, technology and techniques is paramount for business leaders to make informed purchasing decisions,” said Tupicoff.

“With the acquisition of these valuable news sources, Prime Creative Media is able to consolidate its support in growing the oil and gas industry. We look forward to creating fantastic opportunities for our partners to connect with an unprecedented number of decision makers in the industry.”

Prime Creative Media publishes other resources sector titles: Australian Mining, Safe to Work, the Oil & Gas Bulletin, and Oil & Gas Industry News.

Great Southern Press CEO Annie Ferguson said “We are very excited about what sale means for GSP. This enables us to focus on growing our core assets, and we are confident that Gas Today and PPO Projects are in safe hands under the management of Prime Creative Media.”

Following the sale, Great Southern Press will continue the publication of The Australian Pipeliner, the official publication of the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association and the leading title for the midstream sector since 1972.

“The Australian Pipeliner is our flagship publication. We have a loyal and dedicated readership of high-level decision-makers within key organisations. We have built this up over decades and look forward to dedicating additional resources towards growing this brand in the coming months,” Ferguson said.

Prime’s plans for PPO and Gas Today

PPO will continue as a premium subscription news service, providing daily updates on news, and a comprehensive project database.

Oil & Gas Industry News will be amalgamated with Gas Today, under a new masthead Oil & Gas Today. The weekly e-newsletter will be rebranded immediately, with all historical content from both sources housed on the same site.

Combining the two e-newsletters significantly increases the reach of both brands, with the e-news now reaching over 27,000 subscribers.

The weekly Oil & Gas Today e-newsletter will deliver breaking information and technology releases, helping the industry make informed purchasing decisions.

Oil & Gas Today will be paired with a bi-monthly printed publication, launching in March 2020.

Prime Creative Media said that the printed publication, with a projected circulation of more than 4,000, will provide a positive platform for the industry, allowing in-depth coverage into new projects, integrity and maintenance, technology, and people who power this great industry.
