Prevention magazine celebrates 100 issues

Prevention magazine is proudly 100 issues strong with its June/July issue, on sale this week with Masterchef judge Melissa Leong on the cover.

Prevention magazine is published by NextMedia under license from Hearst in the US. (It started life at Pacific Magazines in October 2009 as a monthly title before becoming bi-monthly and changing publishers in early 2017).

“I am so proud of this title’s longevity in the current publishing landscape,” said Editor Andrea Duvall.

“Prevention’s healthy lifespan exemplifies everything we’re about: we inspire women with the latest news and advice on how to live their fittest, healthiest and most fulfilling lives – so ideally they, too, can look forward to 100 candles!”

Duvall explained that Melissa Leong was chosen for the 100th edition cover because she is as passionate about fitness as she is about food.

“In many ways she is a great poster girl for the Prevention attitude of living your best life in every way – from enjoying nourishing food to good health and happiness.”

Prevention magazine has grown multiple touchpoints in recent times. A successful podcast Thriving in Menopause, is about to drop its second season. And, following last year’s popular Virtual Walk during COVID-19 lockdown, the magazine will run another later this year, sponsored by Breast Cancer Trials and Rockport. (The walk is real, with participants taking the 10k challenge wherever they are on the same day.)

“We have lots of exciting new ways to grow the brand in print and off the page and we’re confident that Prevention will continue to enjoy a long and healthy life.”

Prevention magazine is inspires women 35+ to live and love their life with energy and confidence – an audience with a high disposable income who are actively seeking ways to enhance their lives. Every issue delivers information, breaking news and authentic lifestyle advice that inspires, challenges and leads readers to love their whole life, from nutrition to food, medicine to mood, exercise to environment.
