Caravan World celebrates 600th issue with new partnership

Caravan World magazine has sent its 600th issue to the printers this week, marking almost 50 years in print for Australia’s longest running caravan magazine.

The 600th issue of Caravan World showcases the journey from issue 1 back in 1970 and the key players whose voices have graced the pages of Caravan World over the journey.

Coinciding with the printing of the 600th edition, Caravan World publisher Emprise Group Holdings has partnered with Australia’s largest recreational vehicle (RV) club Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) to provide Caravan World subscribers with an exclusive membership offer.

From June 1, all Caravan World subscribers will get access to the CMCA membership with no joining fee (saving $16.50) while all 70,000 CMCA members will now be able to access the Caravan World digital subscription for free and add the print version of Caravan World to their annual membership.

Emprise Group Holdings, which took over the publishing of Caravan World in 2016, released details of the CMCA partnership today as a fitting way to celebrate the landmark edition.

Emprise CEO, Rob Gallagher commented, “Caravan World has long been the consumer’s bible when researching and planning their caravan or RV purchase, or helping to guide their next big adventure.

“Since we purchased Caravan World, we have focused on the credibility and the quality of the content.”

Caravan World’s travel features are produced by writers who are living the caravan and camping lifestyle, often doing their own ‘big lap’ of Australia, while caravan reviews are independently assessed in real conditions, whether in the Red Centre or up the remote coast of WA.

“This has seen us buck the readership trend with both retail sales and subscription sales stable against a backdrop of 20 to 30 per cent annual declines across the broader magazine market.”

“The partnership with the CMCA, the largest caravan club in Australia, is recognition by both parties that together we can help grow this fabulous market and provide move value for our readers, our advertisers and our partners. We see this initiative as another important one to further grow our readership and connection to our core target markets.”

Emprise said that Caravan World’s current retail circulation is up 5 per cent compared to 2018 and subscriptions up 50 per cent year on year, against a backdrop of a magazine market that has seen double digit declines in recent years.
