Westwick-Farrow Media launches edutech media brand futureED

Westwick-Farrow Media has launched a new education technology media channel – futureED.

futureED is a digital and print channel that will complement the business’s established media brands GovTech Review, Hospital + Healthcare and Technology Decisions.

Westwick-Farrow Media (WFM) Managing Director and Publisher Geoff Hird said “Even before the challenges that COVID-19 has presented to the sector, we were looking at how technology was transforming the education sector in Australia, with a view to adding to our tech portfolio.

“The current situation we find ourselves in will change many industry sectors forever, and with education leading the way, this is an exciting time for us to launch a new media platform in this space.”

futureED will initially launch as a digital brand, with a weekly eNewsletter and a microsite running inside www.TechnologyDecisions.com.au

Two annual print magazines will publish to coincide with major industry events in the sector, kicking off with an October edition, to be published prior to Terrapinn’s EduTECH 2020 conference and exhibition.

The audience will initially comprise more than 8,300 professionals working in education technology or management across Australia, including IT and ICT managers, principals, directors and heads of departments.

Primarily focused on the K–12 year levels, the initial reach will include TAFE and further education, with plans to develop further into that space.

Content will focus on topics such as artificial intelligence, gamification, online learning, cybersecurity, connectivity, apps and hardware.

“The current business environment is a challenge for all, but it also presents opportunities for those willing to invest in new ventures. We look forward to working with like-minded companies in the education tech sector to connect with innovative educators and develop new partnerships,” Hird said.

Established in 1990, WFM publishes 12 media brands across a range of engineering and technology related fields.

The company has built its success on a long history of supporting and working with industry bodies, leading companies and associations.
