Green Press launches Walkers Journal

Independent publisher Green Press has launched the Walkers Journal, a digital and quarterly print publication for people who are passionate about nature, exploration, food and architecture.

The Walkers Journal, available via a new website and A5 print publication, features walks along coasts, through mountains and in cities, and showcase some of the country’s iconic and lesser-known walks. The intention is that print editions will be collectable, kept for future reference, and the right size to take on walks.

Green Press founders Tom Bodycomb and Tamsin O’Neill ran a crowdfunding campaign in 2020 to launch the Journal. The successful campaign raised over $55,000 from more than 1,000 supporters.

Of those that supported the campaign, 628 chose to commit to an annual subscription, and 325 chose to commit to a two-year subscription.

Green Press also publishes green magazine and Treadlie. Bodycomb and O’Neill launched green magazine in 2007, and following its success launched Treadlie in 2010. Green magazine focuses on sustainable architecture and landscape design, while Treadlie is dedicated to bike lovers.

“We have walked throughout Australia’s spectacular regions for many of the travel articles published in each issue of green magazine. Having been inspired and learnt so much on these treks, we have decided it was timely to launch Walkers Journal to celebrate the wide variety of walks in our country, for adventurers of all levels,” the publishers said on the Walkers Journal Pozible page.

O’Neill is Managing Editor of the publication.
