2020 IT Journalism Awards postponed

MediaConnect’s 2020 IT Journalism Awards, commonly known as the Lizzies, have been postponed until later in the year due to COVID-19 concerns.

The IT Journalism Awards were due to run on Friday 20 March, but organisers are working with the venue Sydney’s Luna Park on alternative dates. MediaConnect said that a date will be announced “once we know it is safe to hold an event of this nature again”.

“Nothing is more important than your health and safety. Our sponsors, Samsung, Amazon Web Services, Watterson Marketing Communications, Atlassian and Enex Testlabs have backed this decision to postpone. We all believe it is the right and responsible thing to do,” MediaConnect said in a statement.

“We considered other options, but the overwhelming consensus from the community is that you deeply value the opportunity that the Lizzies provides to truly come together and share in each other’s success. Unfortunately, now is not the right time for that to happen.”

All tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled Awards, and refunds are available if required.
